Welcome to my ClassPage!
Welcome to my web page.  I will post homework assignments, test date reminders, and quick lecture overviews.

Course Overview

This course is an introduction to the field of economics in general.  We start with a basic overview of the economy and the current economic outlook, including the recent Great Recession and its causes.  Following, we will cover topics in both microeconomics and macroeconomics.  Some of these include basic economic terminology, concept of scarcity, factors of production, comparison of different economic systems with an emphasis on a market system, supply & demand, business organizations, financial markets (stock project), money and banking, labor market, taxes and government spending (fiscal policy), Federal Reserve and monetary policy, and trade.

This is a lot to cover in one semester!

Please note that this is not a personal finance class although I will often relate what we are learning to real-life situations and take some time, whenever possible, to discuss personal finance issues.

My goal is to make my class enjoyable and informative. I hope to relay to my students the importance and relevance of economics in their daily lives.
