Listed below are daily assignments for all classes.  All homework will be typewritten, unless otherwise indicated, and is due at the beginning of each class period. Late work will be penalized as described in the class standards.  Shoddy or incomplete work will not be accepted. Tests or classwork missed due to an excused absence may be made up for full credit during the support period following the absence.

Due
4/10:  Bring grammar book.  Carefully respond (typed, double-spaced) to TKAM Pre-reading sheet.

Due 4/12:  Grammar P.419-20, Ex.2.  Reach first three chapters of TKAM.  Respond (typed, double-spaced) to classroom handout (for the first three PAGES).

Due 4/16:  Vocab. Test #10.  Read TKAM Chapters 4,5.

Due 4/18:  Read ch. 6-8 of TKAM

Due 4/24:  Read TKAM through chapter 11.  Neatly complete "Faces" homework (classroom handout).  Grammar P. 425, Rev. Ex A. (typed).

Due 4/26:  Read Chapters 12,13.  Compose (type) ten tough trivia Q's and A's from chapters 1-13.

Due 4/30:  Read Chapters 14, 15, 16.

Due 5/2:  Read Chapters 17,18.  Grammar P. 428, Ex. 6.

Due 5/6:  Read chapters 19, 20.  Grammar P. 433, Ex. 11.

Due 5/8:  Read Chapters 21, 22, 23.

Due 5/10:  Vocab. Test #11.  Read chapters 24-26.

Due 5/14:  Finish novel.  Grammar P. 437, Ex. 14 and 15.

Due 5/17:  TKAM Exam.  Submit practice www.turnitin.com sentences.

Due 5/21:  TKAM project/ presentation

Due 5/23:  TKAM paragraph ( submit to www.turnitin.com).  Bring in TWO paper copies.

Due 5/29:  Heavily edit TKAM paragraph.  Bring in revised (clean) copy along with the two preliminary copies, completed outline, and grading rubric.

Due 6/4:  Complete problems 11-20 on classroom grammar handout.  Identify the phrase, tell how it is used or what it modifies.  TYPE.  Also, BRING LIT. BOOK.

Due 6/6:  Phrases test.

Due 4/10:  Bring in a significant outside novel.

Due 4/12:  Grammar P. 473, Ex. 5, P. 474, Rev. Ex. A (odd #'s), P. 476 Rev Ex. B., P 477 Rev Ex. C.  (type all)

Due 4/16:  Carefully respond to LOTF Prereading statements.

Due 4/24:  Read chapters 1,2 of LOTF.

Due 4/26:  Read chapter 3.  Compose (type, MLA format) ten unanswered questions from the first three chapters.  Speculate as to their answers; develop a bit.

Due 4/30:  Read chapter four.  Vocabulary test #13.  Heavily edit "unanswered questions" assignment.

Due 5/2:  Read Chapter five.

Due 5/6:  Read Chapters 6, 7 ,8.     Grammar P. 482, Ex. 12; P.483, Rev. Ex. D.

Due 5/8:  Read Chapters 9, 10.

Due 5/10:  Finish novel.  Compose (type) five talking points, as per handout and classroom instruction.

Due 5/14:  LOTF Final Test

Due 5/21:  LOTF Essay.  Submit to www.turnitin.com. prior to class.  Bring TWO typed copies to class.

Due 5/23:  Edit essay and bring clean copy to class.  Include peer-edited copies and grading rubric.  Bring LOTF novels to class.

Due 5/31:  Vocab. Test #14.  Also, read/watch Steinbeck's Of Mice and Men (by Tuesday, 6/4).

Due 5/22:  Project day.

Due 5/28:  Paragraph/outline due.  Submit to www.turnitin.com prior to class.  Bring in TWO paper copies.

Due 5/30:  Bring in:  Clean copy of paragraph, two prelim. copies, grading rubric, completed outline, grammar book.

Due 6/3:  Complete #'s 11-20 on classroom grammar handout.  Determine the type of phrase and how it is used or what it modifies.  Type.

Due 4/15:  One-page composition (typed, double-spaced).  Tell of a time you witnessed or were a party to childhood evil.  Provide setting, individual(s) involved, sequence of events, long and short term results.  Conclude with your personal thoughts.

Due 4/17:  Vocabulary Test #5. 

Due 4/19:  Read Chapter one of LOTF.

Due 4/25:  Read chapters two and three of LOTF.

Due 4/29:  Read LOTF Ch. 4.  Grammar P. 308-311, Exercises 1,2,3,4 (do the last three in each).  Remember to use MLA format.

Due 5/1:  Read Chapter 5.  Type in-class writing assignment:  "Speculate as to what might happen in the next few chapters."

Due 5/3:  Read Chapter 6.

Due 5/7:  Read Chapters 7,8 ( quiz on 6,7,8 )

Due 5/9:  Read chapters 9,10.  Revise/rewrite narrative (see classroom handout).  Typed, MLA format.

Due 5/13:  Vocab test # 7.  Finish novel.  Prepare for Socratic seminar (as described in classroom handout.
 
Due 5/15:  LOTF final test.

Due 5/20:  LOTF essay (see classroom handout).  Submit text of essay to www.turnitin.com prior to class on Monday.  Bring in TWO paper copies of your essay.  Remember to use MLA format.

Due 5/22:  Re-submit LOTF Essay.  Include both pre-drafts and grading rubric.

Due 5/30:  Vocab. test #8.

Due 6/5:  Grammar review exercises, as posted in class.
