California Scholarship Federation
Welcome to the AHS CSF web page!
CSF (California Scholarship Federation) is an academic honor society whose purpose is to "foster high standards of scholarship, service, and citizenship" (CSF Standing Rules, Section 1).  The CSF standing rules also state that "membership is neither automatic nor compulsory" and that "the student must apply for membership during an enrollment period established by the adviser."  CSF will be accepting applications for spring 2010 membership from 2/22 through 2/26.  Please dowload the application and procedure guide sheet from this web site  The procedure guide will walk you through how to fill out the application correctly.  Both are located to the right in the Class Library section of this page.  Applications are due by the end of lunch in the AAC on February 26th , 2010.

Important Info
Things to Know

Students may apply for CSF beginning Spring semester of freshman year.

Membership granted for a certain semester is based on the previous semester grades.

Any membership based on freshman year grades grants the student "Associate Member status." These semesters of membership do not count towards Gold Seal status.

Explanation for the use of summer school courses taken from the CSF Handbook:

"Summer school courses may only be used in the computation of semester membership eligibility only if the student has not taken sufficient List I and List II courses during the previous semester." Article IV, Section 13

"A student must have taken a minimum of 3 courses from Lists I and II; at least 2 of the 3 courses must be from List I" Article IV, Section 7

Gold Seal Bearer Membership requires 4 semesters of membership, starting with membership based on sophomore grades (Spring Semester of 10th grade).  One semester of membership must be during senior year.  There is also a requirement of 20 hours of community service.

You may either stop by during support, nutrition, or lunch (not during class time) to view your membership records or send Mr. Busby an email requesting the information.

Senior Stuff

GOLD SEAL BEARER

An Agoura High School Gold Seal Bearer receives a CSF Gold Seal on his/her diploma, a CSF gold pin, recognition at the Senior Awards Assembly and the honor indicated in the Graduation Program.

To qualify as a Gold Seal Bearer you must have been a member of CSF for four or more semesters beginning with sophomore spring semester membership, and one or more of these semesters of membership must occur during 12th grade.

Freshman spring and sophomore fall memberships do not count towards Gold Seal Bearer, as they are based on freshman grades.

To attend the annual Senior CSF dinner and receive special recognition at graduation (the wearing of the gold cord on your robe and your name announced during the program) you must complete and receive credit for 20 hours or more of community service during your senior year in addition to meeting the requirements for a Gold Seal Bearer.
