Special Education
My name is Katrina Jacobsen. This is my 11th year teaching for LVUSD. I have been working for the district for 12 years now. I started off working as an Instructional Assistant at Agoura with students with special needs. At that time, I went to CSUN to get my teaching credential in special education. I then became a special education teacher and taught at White Oak Elementary for 3 years. I moved to secondary and worked half day in the morning at Calabasas High and then in the afternoon at A.E. Wright Middle School. This is my 7th year at Agoura and I love being a Charger. We definitely have an amazing family among our staff here at AHS. I have 16-month-old boy/girl twins. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year.

Jody Kammer is originally from Indiana, but graduated from Colorado College with a degree in political science. While pursuing her undergraduate, she attended the European Union Law School in The Netherlands, as well as interned on Capitol Hill. Jody has one master’s degree in Education and another in Clinical Psychology – both from Pepperdine University. She speaks some German, Japanese, and a very little French. She has been teaching for over 11 years in the southern California and Washington, D.C. areas. She comes to us most recently from Santa Barbara High School where she taught Gen Ed and Special Ed English courses. She is incredibly excited to be at Agoura High School because of it’s amazing reputation, and because it means she is closer to her 8 year old nephew, Colby Joe, who lives in Thousand Oaks. Jody has a little dog, named Biscuit, that everyone should (and probably will) meet!

Special Education
My name is Mr. Brent Kast, and I am your childs special education case manager. In some cases, I am also your childs World Geography, Health, or Study Skills teacher. Now that the dust has settled and schedules are, for the most part, squared away, I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself. I will be holding a continental breakfast Friday Sept 7, during support. During this meeting, I will introduce myself and advise your child that I am their special education contact during this academic year. During the year, you may have questions related to your childs academic classes either in the general or special education setting. If so, I ask that you first contact those teachers directly to try and solve any issues related to that specific class. Often times, problems can be solved with a phone call, email, or by checking that teachers website which is located at http://www.agourahighschool.net under the faculty drop down menu and teacher webpages. If you email a general education teacher, I ask that you CC me so I can be aware of any concerns/issues. This will allow me to follow up with you and that teacher if needed. If after making contact with that teacher your issue remains unresolved, I am available to discuss possible solutions with you. I can be contacted via email at bkast@lvusd.org. I will respond within a 48-hour period. I look forward to a successful-productive year. Sincerely, Mr. Brent Kast M.Ed.
