Summer School 2015 PDF Print E-mail
Register for Summer School School 2015!  Summer School online registration opens on Monday, April13. 

Through Summer School, students can:
  • Enhance high school transcripts with additinal courses for college applications.
  • Take a required core course during the summer and open up their schedules for additional electives during the regualr school year.
  • Retake a class to replace a D or F grade.
We offer  courses in Social Studies, Science, English, Math, Foreign Language, Health and Dance (meets PE requirement).

Online registration for students currently enrolled in grades eight through twelve is available from April 13, through May 22, at www.knowledgecounts.net.

There will be two walk-in registratin days: Saturday, May 2 from 1:00-3:00 pm at Calabasas High School and on Saturday, May 9, from 9:00-11:00 am at Agoura High School.  Form more informations, visit the Knowledge Counts website at www.knowledgecounts.net

Join us Thursday night, April 2, at 6 pm in the G building for an awesome round of
fun featuring the AHS award-winning Comedy Sportz team! 
See our AHS ComedySportz stars play improvisational challenge games while competing for laughs from yiou, our audience!  They haven't a clue what we'll be springing on them, but we promise it will get messy!!

You'll have a fantastic time watching this upbeat, fast-paced, high-energy, family-friendly show where the audience participates too! 
During intermission join your favorite team members for delicious pizza and sandwiches that will be sold outside.

Tickets are available at the door.  Adults $7, students $5.

 
NAVIANCE "How To" Workshop PDF Print E-mail
Monday, February 9 thru Thursday, February 12, in Room C2 during support (7:50 - 8:30 am).

It is time to start making your course selections for the 2015/16 school year.  You will be selecting your courses online through Naviance.  At these workshops, AHS Counselors will provide help in the following areas:

  • Assisting you in getting your Naviance user name and password to sign in to your account.
  • Demontrating the course selection feature on Naviance for your 2015/16 school year.

Naviance will open for course selections on Friday, February 13, thru Monday, February 23.  If  you have questions, please come to the Counseling Office or call ext. 246

ACTIVITIES


Grad Nite 2016 Fundraiser at Fresh Brothers in Westlake Promenade on Tuesday, March 31st      Eat at Fresh Brothers anytime between 11:00am and 9:00pm and show the image of the flyer from www.ahsgradnight.com and a portion of the proceeds will go towards this year’s Grad Nite.              Junior Java is Back and Better than Ever! Wednesday, April 1st, there will be iced coffee, iced tea, and lemonade. Swing by during nutrition with just $3 for a cool, refreshing beverage.

This Year’s Dance Marathon is on March 27th. Participants will receive six community service hours. All proceeds go to Project Kindle, an organization that provides summer camp for children with AIDs. Tickets are $15 and you can purchase them from Student Council members or in the Main Quad at nutrition through March 27th.

Dodgeball Packets are available now in room K-4. Don’t wait…they are due back to K-4 no later than this Friday, March 27th. Come form a team!


ACADEMICS


Looking for an Awesome, Fun Elective Class for Next Year? Sign up for Theater 1 class now! Make close friends, play really fun theatre games and join the department that everyone calls their school family. This is a special class that you will remember forever. Sign up for Theatre 1 today!

Current Freshmen, Sophomores and Juniors: By the end of this week, most students will have met with their counselor to discuss course requests for next year. If you have not met with your counselor, you will be called in by next week. After you have met with your counselor, the Parent signature Page must be printed out, signed by parent and turned in to the Counseling Office no later than April 2, 2015. If a student needs to make any changes to the schedule after April 2nd, they may meet with their counselor during support, nutrition or lunch to make any changes. The deadline to make changes is May 29, 2015.

AP Pre-Administration Sessions for 2015 AP Exams:The AP Pre-Administration Sessions for students who are taking the 2015 AP exams are based on last name. See flyer for details. Please Note:  Students who are just taking the AP Studio Art and AP Chinese exams do not need to attend one of these sessions.  You will be doing everything on the computer. 

World Language Tutoring: Come to room M-9 for free tutoring every day at support.

Numbers Got you Down? Need help with math? Come to room M-10 for free, one-on-one tutoring by our amazing math tutors. Math tutoring is available during support, lunch and sixth period.

Do you Need Help in English? English Honor Society has tutors in room K-9 every day at support. Come get help with essays, grammar, and anything else English related.

Attention Seniors!   AHS Grad Nite 2015 is Thursday June 11th, right after graduation.  Prices go up after March 31st, so don’t delay! SERVICE LEARNING

The City of Malibu is having the Easter Hoppening and Glow in the Dark Egg Hunt on Friday, March 27th, from 1:00pm – 9:00 pm at the Malibu Bluffs Park. Interested volunteers should email www.malibucityorg/teens.

Gradnite Garage Sale is on Saturday, April 18th . They are looking for volunteers to help set up on Friday, April 17th from 4:00- 10:00pm, and on Saturday from 7:00am – 3:00pm.       Sign up here.

The Agoura and Calabasas Performing Arts Education Centers have many upcoming events. Please go to the VolunteerSpot on the front page of the AHS website.

The West Valley Soccer League needs student volunteers to help referee youth soccer. This program is run by volunteer coaches and volunteer referees and their goal is the pursuit of excellence in all levels of soccer through their programs. Contact Rose Covert at 818-321-3229.

Strong Villages is a public benefit charity to help the poor people of Belize. They are having a humanitarian trip from April 4 – 11, 2015 (over Spring Break). Students can earn 32 service learning hours. Please contact Lynn Bealer at 818-266-3413 or email strongvillages.org.

The City of Malibu Presents Chumash Day on Friday, April 10th, from 1:00 – 5:00pm. They need volunteers for event prep and on Saturday, April 11th, from 10:00am – 5:00pm for the actual event. Contact Kristin Riesgo at kriesgo@malibucity.org or 310-456-2489 ext. 350.
