Students!  Are you taking the upcoming AP tests?  Need help with standardized testing or struggling with the college process?  Agoura High School has a new resource called "The Testing and Education Reference Center"  that grants students access to hundreds of practice tests for AP exams, SAT Subject Tests, the SAT the ACT and so much more!  You can even find a resume builder, informatin on the college process and scholarships.  This service is free and can be accessed at http://infotrac.galegroup.com/itweb/calabasas_main?db=TERC  Please note you will need a Calabasas Library Card if you are not accessing the site at school.

 For information on the Safe and Sober Grad Nite, please click AHS Gradnite  Please be aware that the Senior Magic Mountain trip and Safe and Sober Grad Nite are two different things with different associated costs and forms.  The Senior Magic Mountain trip takes place on May 27, and the Safe and Sober Grad Nite takes place on June 9 after the graduation ceremony.

ACADEMICS


AP Exams: If you are registered to take an AP Exam, please make sure you check the website for AP Exam information and AP Room Locations.

Are You Stressed About AP and IB Tests, or just Finals at the End of the Year? Take a minute to destress by having some pancakes on May 4th (a late start day). Link Crew will be selling pancakes from 8:30- 9:40 in room N-7 for 50 cents per pancake.

Message from the Media Center: If your Acer laptop is not in use, it can be returned to the Media Center. Make sure you return your laptop with the case, strap, and both parts of the charger. Your laptop must be returned cleaned and the case free of any pet hair and/or debris. Thank you.

Attention All Students! During the week of May 9-13, 2016 at lunch in room A-1, Public Works, will be discussing interesting projects and will feature informative speakers talking about the opportunities that are available to students.  This can be an awarding career in civil engineering.


ACTIVITIES


Make Dinner a Selfless Act While Supporting the AHS Music Department! Come in to the Chipotle in Westlake Village TODAY, May 10th between 4:00 and 8:00pm. Bring in the attached flier and show it on your Smartphone, or tell the cashier you’re supporting the cause to make sure that 50% of the proceeds will be donated to AHS Music Department.

Link Crew: There is a mandatory Link Crew meeting this Thursday, May 5th at lunch in room A-1 for the 8th grade visit. If you do not attend, you cannot participate in the 8th grade visit.

Come and join the Agoura High School Dance Program as they present a night of dance. The annual Spring Dance Concert "The Dance Experience" will be on Thursday May 5th and Friday May 6th at 7:00pm in the PAEC. You can purchase your tickets on the PAEC website at www.thepaecs.org. The dances featured are choreographed by professionals as well as Agoura's very own talented students. We hope to see you there!

Come to this Year’s Murder Mystery! Show dates are this Friday and Saturday, May 6th and 7th. Catering from Maria’s will be provided. Pick up your ticket forms from the Main Office. It’s a hysterically funny show that you won’t want to miss!

Powder Puff is Back! Girls, guys, coaches – we need you! Sign up with packets in room K-4 by May 10th.


ATHLETICS


This Wednesday, May 4th is the varsity baseball barbeque! Come out to the home varsity baseball game this Wednesday at 3:00pm for burgers, chips, drinks and 10 spirit points. Food is free with a Power Plant t-shirt and $3 without.

AHS Athletic Physicals and Clearance Days:  Agoura High School Athletic Physicals/Clearances for the 2016-17 school year will be held at Exer Urgent Care in Calabasas on Saturday, May 21 and Saturday, June 4.   The cost is $50 per exam and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Agoura High School Athletic Department.  Please see the attached flier for detailed information.

SENIORS


Graduation Announcements are Here! If you ordered announcements, you may pick them up in the AAC.

Hey Seniors! It’s commitment season! Don’t forget to pick up your college banner and diploma frame order form in room K-4. Forms and checks are due by May 13th.

Graduation Speech and Musical Auditions: If you wish to audition to give a speech or participate in a musical performance at Graduation, get a form from the Attendance or Counseling office and turn it in to the Counseling Office by this Friday, May 6th.

Senior Activities Friday, May 6th Deadline! This Friday, May 6th is the deadline to purchase all senior activities as well as any extra graduation tickets. Lists are posted outside of the AAC, in the Media Center and in the Main Quad of what activities seniors have purchased. PLEASE, PLEASE check the lists. You DO NOT want to be left out!    

Senior Survey: You must complete the Senior Survey by Friday, May 13th.  Look in Naviance under “About Me” to find the survey.  Please read all questions carefully.  If this survey is not completed, you will not receive any FREE tickets to graduation. Those who complete the survey will receive four free tickets to graduation. Also, please make sure you've completed the entire "Colleges I'm Applying To" section in Naviance by Friday, May 13th

Senior Prom will be on May 21st at the Fess Parker Doubletree Hotel in Santa Barbara. Tickets are $90 per person and can be purchased on the webstore and in the AAC through this Friday, May 6th. Transportation will be provided for those who are interested.   If you wish to use the school provided transportation, you must make a reservation at the AAC or email jcohen@lvusd.org no later than this Friday, May 6th. If you are bringing a guest who does not attend AHS, you must submit a Guest Pass to Mrs. McGrady in the Attendance Office for approval, no later than Friday, May 6th. Guest Passes are available on the school website under Activities:AAC.

Prom Reserved Seating: Please bring your Prom ticket receipt to the table next to the AAC during nutrition or lunch. There is a maximum of 12 people per table. Dietary restriction requests can also be made at this time.

GRAD NITE Ticket Sales are Still Available: Don’t get left off the bus! Check the GRAD NITE board on the wall outside of the AAC to see if you have signed up. Registration forms are still available for GRAD NITE. Grab one right outside of the AAC or on the school website under Activities:GradNite. The cost is $200 and the last deadline is May 27th!   If you have any questions, please email ahsgradnite2016@gmail.com

Senior Transcripts: You will need to order your official final transcript for your college as well as one for NCAA if you are a Division I or II athlete. Final transcripts can be ordered in the Counseling Office by June 3rd. The cost is $5 each and must be paid for at the time of your request by check (made out to AHS) or by using PayPal. Payment is required at the time you place your order. Edoc Transcripts will be sent electronically the week of June 13th via Naviance. Paper Transcripts will be ready for pick up beginning June 20th – please remember to bring a photo ID. No transcripts will be given without one a photo ID. All transcripts must be picked up by June 29th.

Attention All Seniors:You only have a few weeks left to turn in your service learning hours. This is a graduation requirement. The deadline is Friday, May 6th. Please turn in your hours to room C-1.

SERVICE LEARNING

Malibu Senior Center needs student volunteers every Friday from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Malibu City Hall  23825 Stuart Ranch Rd., Malibu.  Assist seniors at the Computer Workshop and also assist with laptops, tablets and phones.  Please call Kristin Riesgo 310-456-2489 ext 350 or email her at kriesgo@malibucity.org

CIJI Kristine Foundationneeds help with their bake sale "Treats for a Cause" every Monday and Wednesday (flexible times) and Friday- Sunday from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Von's Marketplace.
CIJI Kristine Foundation also needs help with Blog 4 Hope.  Students can get service learning hours from home on your own schedule by blogging on CIJIK.com.  This is an effort to support educational discussions dedicated to improving better communication for addiction, mental health and suicide awareness.  Contact

The Agoura Hills Community Service Days is on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Chumash Park  5550 Medea Valley Dr., Agoura Hills.  Check-in is at 8:30am and begin work at 9:00am.  This is a huge event and there are lots of opportunities for service learning.  Please call 818-597-7361 or sign up www.communityservicedays.org
