Every other Spring, Agoura High School and Indian Hills High School participate in a 2-day awareness program called Every 15 Minutes. In conjunction with the California Highway Patrol and the Office of Traffic Safety, AHS/IHHS is taking a proactive step in education local high school students about making mature decisions involving alcohol and distracted driving issues. The program's name was conceived when one alcohol-related traffic fatality occurred in the United States every fifteen minutes.
On Monday, March 27 (even) and Tuesday, March 28 (odd) AHS/IHHS Juniors and Seniors will be participating in the program which is designed to dramatically instill in teenagers the dangerous consequences of drinking and driving as well as distracted driving. It is a hard hitting, realistic and highly emotional experience for everyone. AHS/IHHS Freshman and Sophomores will have a more age-appropriate assembly related to Every 15 MInutes and Distracted Driving on Monday, March 27 (even) only.
IF you do not feel comfortable with your student participating in this program, you will need to fill out the opt out form which is listed below and return it to the Attendance Office no later than 3/24/17. Your student will then have a different location that they will be directed to during this time.
