AHS English Department Writing Portfolios
Definition:
The AHS English Department writing protfolio is a vehicle that will
allow students to collect up to fourteen assignments per year.
The folder provides space for the title of each assignment, areas in
which the student might improve, and space for the student's personal
comments about the assignment.
Objectives:
- To compile significant student writing in each class into one
standard portfolio
- To provide the following year's teacher with a ready reference
for a student's progress
- To provide a bank of work to which the student can refer for the
purpose of enhancing skills
- To provide a solid source for input during parent conferences
- To help ensure consistency of instruction within each level and
in the department overall
